[Harmony-users] CLA or CAA how to choose...

Hi all,

I'm just subscribing to this mailing list, so let me first say Hello to
every one.
My first try have been to visit the archives to see if question I have
could be part of prior postings to the list ... but I discover the
archives is currently empty.
So let me try to briefly explain my question to see if some one can provide
some guidance.

Here the context:
We are on the way to start a new Open Source Project.
At the moment we are thinking about the licence and the Contributor
Agreement we have to choose.
For information we will probably choose an AGPL v3 license for our
project, (even if we are still hesitating with the MPL v2). Anyway this is
not my primary question here.
We are located in France and even if we expect worldwide contributors in
the future first will probably came from France.

Now my troubles/questions:
 - How to choose between CLA or CAA? How to be sure we make the good
choice? My first idea was to say CAA will be the best choice, since it
looks easier and safer for the project, but if CLA exist it is probably
because there are some benefits, isn't it?
 - Is the Copyright Assignment applicable worldwide even is the Agreement
is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the french
courts? Some of my friend think this is not application to the French
laws... but I have also read some paper (e.g.
http://www.twobirds.com/French/News/Articles/Pages/2007/French_court_assignment_copyright_set_terms.aspx),
if I well understand it, say the opposite

Thank you in advance for helping me

Regards.
Olivier.
